The tunnels and ditches were dug out by plantation workers over a century ago! There is so much history in this tubing adventure, and also spectacular views of the mountains that truly can’t be beat!
A four wheel drive tour through the Lihue plantation is also included in this excursion. Even though the plantation itself is no longer in operation, you can learn all about the amazing history. There is a museum, as well as a farm and botanical garden. You can learn about the history of sugar as it relates to Hawaiian culture. You can also see how sugar was produced in the past, so even on this thrilling adventure there is a ton of history to explore as well!
This is the only tubing activity of its kind on Kauai, so be sure to book your stay at Makai Club Resort and check out this mountain tubing adventure while you are there!
