We loved our stay at Makai Club. Our cottage was spacious, clean, cute, and well-equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful and we loved the location. Beautiful grounds, quiet, and an easy drive everywhere we needed to go. We look forward to returning.

Absent the hurricane and the amazing staff afterwords. Thanks Jackie and Andrew. The 2 bedroom villa is spacious and clean with plenty of room and nicely laid out. There is no ac so you have to rely on the breeze, if there is one amidst the humidity. So it does get rather warm at night in September. There is a rooster problem for sure. If the 3am and periodic crowing thereafter doesn't bother you, Then ok, didn't work for us. Also there is no way to properly close a window they are all covered by slats. If you have a loud neighbor you can feel as though you can join in their conversations. If you are with wyndham you still have to pay the daily resort fee. Nice view of a field near the golf course or of the mountains. Staying there once was sufficient. Beaches are at least 15 minute drive.

We stayed in one of the Cottages at Makai Club, with a big floor plan including 2 bedrooms, each with a king bed and its own bathroom suite. This is a well maintained property that borders beautiful natural grasses and open space on the north side. Not a fancy all inclusive beachside resort, Makai Club caters to a more mature audience that appreciates a quiet setting and good value.

this is a beautiful facility and both front desk and maintenance staff were great.

We are surrounded by lush green tropical trees and plants and are close to very interesting places, beaches, towns and markets. Before and during our arrival, we were greeted warmly and made welcome to a resort that we stayed at in the 1980’s. We love this part of Kauai. We have been kept informed of the status of Hurricane Lowell by the resort staff who are making sure that we are aware of what we need to be aware of during the storm as well as preparation before its arrival.

Upon arrival, living room smelled damp and musty. On second day, cockroaches were seen in drawers in bathroom. On fifth day, smoke alarm goes off in unit at 2:30am. I hit the reset button to make it stop, but it kept coming back on so I finally took the unit off the wall and took out the batteries to keep it from going off every ten minutes. When I turned on the lights, I saw more cockroaches scramble in the kitchen. There should also be a fan installed in the bathroom as it stays damp and musty after showers. The entire unit should be fumigated. The unit is old and needs some updating. If I owned the unit, I’d get rid of the carpeting and put in LVP flooring in the entire unit. That is probably what is causing the mustiness in the unit.
